❓ Frequently Asked Questions

What is WebP?

WebP is a modern image format developed by Google that provides superior compression compared to JPG and PNG. It creates smaller files while maintaining good quality, making websites load faster. It supports both lossy compression (like JPG) and transparency (like PNG).

Why convert WebP to JPG?

JPG is the most universally compatible image format – it works everywhere, on every device, in every software. You might want to convert WebP to JPG when:
• Sharing images with others (guaranteed compatibility)
• Uploading to websites or platforms that don't support WebP
• Printing images (JPG is widely accepted)
• Creating smaller files (JPG compression reduces size)

What about transparency in WebP?

JPG does NOT support transparency. If your WebP image has transparent areas, they will be filled with a white background. If you need to preserve transparency, use our WebP to PNG converter instead.

Will I lose quality?

JPG uses lossy compression, which means some quality is sacrificed to achieve smaller file sizes. Our tool uses standard JPG quality (92%) which provides an excellent balance between quality and file size. The image will still look great for most uses.

Will the file size change?

Typically, JPG files are smaller than WebP files when WebP is in lossless mode. However, WebP's advanced compression often produces smaller files than JPG at similar quality. Converting to JPG may result in slightly larger files in some cases.

Is there a file size or number limit?

No hard limit, but for performance we recommend up to 20 images and total size under 100MB. Very large images may process slowly depending on your device.

Are my images safe?

100% private – all processing happens in your browser. Your images never leave your device. No uploads, no servers, no data collection.

Can I arrange images before conversion?

Yes! Use the up/down buttons next to each image to set the order. The converted JPGs will appear in that order in the download list.
